Dr.Thandika.Brown.Black.Queer.Therapist.

Hi! I’m Dr. Thandika Brown

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist practicing in New York and Massachusetts. My professional journey has led me through diverse mental health settings, including community mental health agencies, inpatient and partial-patient psychiatric hospitals, college counseling centers, and group practices. Throughout my career, I have worked with clients of various ages, genders, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientations, enriching my understanding of the complexities of human experiences. Towards the bottom of this page, you can find a list of my educational and clinical training.

As a Jamaican immigrant raised in multi-cultural and multi-ethnic spaces, I am very interested in the intersection of different ways of being and how culture and socio-political factors influence how we move through the world. As a queer Black cis-woman, I am particularly dedicated to creating and maintaining space for those voices and experiences often disregarded and invalidated by society. My mission is to provide empathetic and culturally sensitive support that honors each individual's unique identities and challenges.

I invite you to explore this website to learn more about my approach to therapy and how I may help you.
